When I first heard of a new Trek movie with an all new & younger cast, I was looking forward to some new Trek. The casting was great, the set designs & ship designs, were less so. Its not that I am against change, I just though that they still could update the look with better designs than what they went with. I didn't except the sets to look like TOS (unless you are New Voyages or ST Continues) anyway, I would have been willing to forgive the sets & ship designs as long as they had a good story. I was enjoying the movie for what it was worth up until, they explained what Nero's beef with Spock Prime was... “Rampaging Supernova?” is that the best the writers could come up with? I mean I don't go to Star Trek shows & movies for a science lecture. Warp Drive, Transporters, human/alien hybrids, I know that is all questionable to impossible science, but I do expect it to get some basic science stuff right like astronomy!
